The World

The year is 1550. Edward VI is King of England, Christian III is King of Denmark-Norway, Julius III is the Pope in Rome, and Charles V is the Holy Roman Emperor.

The known world is vast, and the whole world even more so. America has been discovered, barely, it’s riches far from being fully explored or exploited. The East if far away, but known, if not wholly knowable. Those regions where men have not settled are filled with the teeming hordes of sub-humans: Goblins, Gnolls, Orcs, Trolls, Giants, and many, many more. The land between the Ottoman Empire and the Tsardom of Muscovy is peopled with tribal half-orcs, the descendants of the Golden Horde of Genghis Khan. The Elves which inhabit the forested slopes of Norway and Sweden keep watch over the mouth of the White Sea, vigilant against an incursion from the Siberian Gnolls.
